Finding a good photographer was really important for us. We chose Canada and the snow because it was different and beautiful. We wanted to be able to capture that, as well as our special day.
I imagined finding the right photographer would be really difficult, and one of the hardest decisions to make. Especially considering we couldn't actually talk or meet anyone. But it was one of the easiest decisions we had to make, and it was one of the first decisions we made (after picking a region of Canada of course). In fact, we had decided on using Kirstie from Orange Girl even before we had decided on a venue.
We ended up finding our photographer Orange Girl Photography because of Google Images. When we were looking for venues in Banff/Lake Louise we found a lot of really fun photos that Orange Girl had taken, along with an Inspirational shoot at Emerald Lake Lodge. (It was also featured on Style Me Pretty, which is an awesome blog if you are looking to get married in Canada).
We loved her photos of winter and summer weddings, and we loved the inspirational and Mr and Mrs sessions she did. To top it off her website was extremely useful in finding venues and vendors for the wedding. Check out my posts on where we chose and a list of other venue options in Banff.
I started following her on Facebook as soon as she set the page up, (which I highly recommend if you are interested in using her for your wedding, or even if you just want inspiration). Recently she posted up some photos she took of a beautiful bride in a pink wedding dress, and even though we had already decided to use her a few months before, it made me so excited to have someone so amazing as our photographer. I hope that on our wedding day the weather allows us to have some photos as beautiful as these.

Her photos also helped us in choosing a venue, as we really struggled to decide where to pick in Banff. There are so many stunning places, and we couldn't go and look at them all, so seeing some beautiful photos of real weddings really helps in the decision process.
