I've been looking at wedding things for over 2 years now, basically since my sister got Engaged, so I have seen a lot of different wedding themes and ideas. One of the things that struck me the most was how important it is to pick a theme that works with your wedding location.
My favourite places to look for things at the moment are Pinterest, BHDLN and Etsy.
Pinterest is pretty awesome because other people practically do all the work for you! This is my Pinterest board. It is great because you can invite your bridesmaids and anyone else you want help from, and just Pin things you see that you like for later.
These are some of the colour schemes I like, but choosing is such a pain! Once you decide, that is it! I don't really want to have to re-make decorations because I've changed my mind!
I love Pinterest for these kind of images, it is full of them, and already done for me!!
I also love BHDLN, what a great website, if I was getting married in the summer I know exactly what dresses i'd be getting my bridesmaids! Unfortunately short dresses would probably be a little cruel (but that is another post all together).
BHDLN has a wonderful range of wedding dresses, but I love the decor and decorations! In my previous post about Orange Girl Photography, I included a photo of a bride running with a love heart balloon. I have a bit of a thing for balloons, they are just so amazing! As it turns out, you can buy it from BHDLN!
I just love giant balloons! I think I like the big round ones better, I might see if I can find some here and make up the big long string with the tassels myself! Otherwise if you don't want to make it yourself you can get the Heart Balloon for $150USD or the Two Round Balloons for $180USD. (The two balloons are also called the Geronimo set, which reminds me of Dr Who. Which I also love!)
UPDATE: So, as much as I love BHDLN, the balloons on there are expensive! I found some pretty good ones on Etsy. These cost $21.40AUD plus $30 shipping, which is less than half the price of the BHDLN ones. Here is a link to a heart balloon similar to the one on BHDLN. (Or these ones which are pretty cool)
The little wheel set is awesome as well, but i'm not really sure what I would use them for...
On the whole balloon theme, they also have these awesome little place cards, which i've fallen in love with, and an adorable hanging hot air balloon!
The other place I like to look at is Etsy, I love Etsy, I buy most of my superhero themed things from there. See the balloon addition above! I also love these tissue paper pom poms, now, i've made these before, for my sisters Hens party, and they are pretty easy to make. My original ones were a bit dense but I think second time round I could get them as fluffy as these. However if your not the craft type you can buy them off Etsy. You have to puff them yourself though
There will probably be a whole bunch of other posts like this one when I find cool things I like. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
